I am featured in the new edition of this Fashion & Textiles text book for undergrad students, written by Jenny Udale, and published by Bloomsbury Press.  Large A4 size images of inspiration fill the pages...... Page 6 - Comme De Garcons, Page 8 - Dries Van Notten, Page 16 - Schiaparelli, Page 18 - Balenciaga,.............so as you can imagine, I'm quite chuffed to be there also, on Page 24.

Peppermint Magazine Feature

I am featured in this month's issue of Peppermint Magazine's article on NEW KNITTING, which also features Swedish Designer Sandra Backlund, who I exhibited alongside at the RMIT Endless Garment Exhibition.  The story includes a great full page image of my studio.

In Frankie

In the new issue of Frankie you will find a free pattern for the Gnome Hood; which is our little teaser to get you inspired for the Construction No. 4 pattern, which will be launched online soon.  Speaking of online, Frankie seemed to have forgotten to print our website address alongside our extreeeemly generous free pattern offer, but we're hoping the Frankie reader is google savvy enough to find us J!.  I also need to desperately correct the caption that says I "make-to-order-garments"; so No, No, we don't, so pleeease do not email me with this request, ask your aunty or your mum instead!!

Country Style Magazine Collaboration

Country Style Magazine has released a CRAFT Issue out this month.  They commissioned me to design the Chunky Cable Chair Cover, which is knitted in my Bespoke Wool, on page 52 is the pattern, and on page 54 is the Cable Cup Cosy.

Viva Magazine Mother's Day Special

The NZ Herald newspaper magazine Viva, has published in their Mother's Day Special edition that they Love the Merchant&Mills Sewing Box.  Available online at the Gather shop, or instore.

The Handknitter's Yarn Guide

'The Love of Knitting Blog' has an interview and competition to win a copy of 'The Handknitters Yarn Guide'; a book I wrote in 2011, which was published by St Martin's Press in New York and Murdoch Press in Australia.  We have a copy of the book in Gather, for those who aren't in America to enter this competition.  The book was a time-consuming project, but extremely rewarding; and the project became the inspiration to open a yarn shop.

We have a nice little mention in yesterday's Auckland newspaper the NZ Herald, in the lifestyle liftout - Viva Magazine.

Uppercase Magazine

I remember when I was in my 20's I wanted to open a wine, magazine and cake shop, because they were the things I loved the best. And then my love of things expanded and my knowledge of some things exceeded others, and so now I do know more about wool than wine or cake, but creative MAGAZINES I still fervently covet and collect, and I can spot a gem anywhere in the world even from the edge of the globe. Uppercase, "A Magazine For the Creative and Curious", I have in store , and they have written up a feature on Gather on their blog.

Selvedge Subscription Offer

Selvedge Magazine have an offer of my Construction Knitting patterns with new subscriptions this month. The current issue is filled with beautiful things; and the first two pages open onto a double spread advertisement of Nikki Gabriel Construction Knitting projects.

KNIT WEAR

A beautifully written feature in American Magazine, KNITWEAR, by it's editor Eunny Jung. I especially enjoyed her quote "knitting patterns or serial art?" This is a cool knitting mag, with a really wide scope on contemporary knitting ideas. I love the minimalism of the knitting patterns in it.

GATHERING

Pia Jane Bijkerk has been gathering floral finds from her neighborhood here; a beautiful documentary of memories. You probably know of this celebrity blogger, author and contributor to the Country Style Blog where she has recently written a feature on Gather. Pia also wrote this post on her experience of the Construction Knitting patterns here, a little while back.

Country Style Photoshoot

Country Style Magazine. has just launched The Wool Issue with pages and pages of wool things. Amongst these you can spot my Bespoke Yarn, Knitting Needles, cup cosies, chunky knit Cable Sofa Cover,knitted Joanie lamp (a collaboration with Lightly), Knitted Dress, a chunky knitted lampshade, felted baskets, and some beautiful yarn which I stock at Gather). This was a huge workload to supply these pieces for this shoot, and what great satisfaction to see the work in such beautifully styled shots.

Thread Magazine

Lovely Willow Sharp is a Textile Designer and talented Weaver now residing in Hawke's Bay; fresh out of RMIT, Melbourne. She's also a regular contributor to NZ's Thread Magazine, and is the creator of this blog feature on Gather.

Remix Magazine

I've always loved the shoots in this magazine; and was browsing through one the other day at a cafe, and spotted my Hirsute Dress in it, from Winter 11. Nice!
