Bangarra Dance Costume

Bangarra Dance Company's performance Patyegarang has kicked off this week at the Sydney Opera House.  This is another wonderful commission from Jennifer Irwin, Costume Designer for Bangarra; who is great to work with as she gives me free reign with the design of the pieces.  I can't wait to see this beautiful performance when I'm in Sydney next week.

I am featured in there albeit small; on page 79 in the UNDERSTANDING YARNS chapter with the images of cascading wool on my studio shelves, and sample sheets of yarn; also on page 98 with an image of Wool Collar from a previous collection in the chapter on TEXTURE.

Aaaahhh, some time off....

An hour and a half drive north east of Napier leads to the Kaweka Forest where we parked the car and followed the track to the Mohaka River.  An hour's walk opened up to a perfect soft patch of grass for a picnic amongst the wild flowers and kereru and a fresh water pool swim amongst the trout.  Don't have any Kinfolkesque action shots,  but you can see the landscape through my lense. Pretty amazing spot to unwind.
