Wild Flowers
En-route to Wellington, we stopped at Masterton to visit a gardener who dries flowers in her shed. The fruit of this visit is a carload of around 40 dried floral varieties that are going to be suspended from the ceiling in the shop.
Gaye and Francis have a Vintage Car and Clothes Museum just outside of Masterton. Gaye stopped drying flowers about a year ago, because there was no demand for them. She is the only source in the whole of New Zealand that I could find for dried flowers. What I bought from her was the last of her drying crop from her shed. If only she knew what a rare resource she is.
